The 1970 custom Chevelle SS 496 your about to witness is absolutely spectacular! This was a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration that I designed. I’ve nick named it “Injected”. I came up with the name “Injected” because when you sit and drive in it you feel like someone has injected you with some serious adrenalin. This is the kind of car that makes you feel bigger then you are! If you’re looking for a tame and quiet car this isn’t for you.
Feast your eyes on “Injected”!!!
Key words that describe this 1970 custom Chevelle showpiece:
1. The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the most recognized muscle cars of all time. It’s the most desirable year of all Chevelles because of its exterior updates and horsepower ranges.
2. This was a frame off, rotisserie and very extensive one-year restoration that was completed in April of 2010. It only has about 150 test miles. This Chevelle has been modified to drive and handle superior to other muscle cars. A complete description of all of the upgrades is listed below. Everything on this car is brand new. Yes, everything from top to bottom including the glass.
3. The car was painted in the beautiful new Mercedes Benz Palladium Silver metallic with black metallic racing stripes. The black stripes are complimented with modern billet black SS emblems and red Trim Parts 496 emblems. The paint job on this car grabs your attention and fits it perfectly. The engine compartment and undercarriage has also been painted the same color. You could shave in the undercarriage reflection. I’ve never seen a Chevelle in this color.
4. The heart of the car is a 496 big block that was rebuilt with many high-end internal and external parts to produce high horsepower. Although it’s never been dyno tested I think it’s pushing somewhere around 500+ horsepower. It’s not for the weak at heart!
5. The transmission is a completely rebuilt Muncie 4-speed that pairs with the engine perfectly. Although the transmission shifts tightly through the gears the clutch is easy to use. The full center console and pistol grip shifter looks sweet!
6. The rear end is a completely rebuilt 12 bolt with posi traction and upgraded internal parts from Randy’s Ring and Pinion. It’s equipped with 331 gears, which allow for both low end and high-end speeds. I wanted to build a car that had tons of horsepower but didn’t want to sacrifice highway driving and this was the perfect application.
7. The F1 suspension system consists of upgraded springs, shocks and sway bars for better handling.
8. The braking system consists of CPP four-wheel power disc brakes for quick stopping power. The cross-drilled and slotted rotors are 13” in the front and 12” in the rear. The red calipers match the 496 emblems perfectly! The chrome power booster also looks neat under the hood.
9. The Summit Racing GM aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keeps the 496 cool.
10. The slightly custom interior includes extremely comfortable Pro Car leather seats with a matching rear seat. These seats provide more travel then the factory did to accommodate larger drivers. It also has a custom Covan carbon fiber dash with black Autometer gauges, Flaming River “Cascade” leather wrapped steering wheel, Billet Specialties door handles and window cranks, CD player with upgraded speakers, custom floor mats and truck mat.
11. The “Injected” three-piece wheels were built by Boze Forged, one of best wheel manufactures in the country. The front wheels are 19X8 with 255/40ZR/19 tires and the rear wheels are 20X10 with 275/40ZR/20 tires. These wheels look perfect paired up with this Chevelle.
12. The Spin Tech exhaust system with polished mufflers looks and sounds awesome! I use Spin Tech exhaust systems on almost every muscle car I have because they have such a unique sound that is indescribable.
13. AIR CONDITIONING
Introduction: Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro from www.msclassiccarsllc.com. You might recognize my name from other magnificent classic cars I’ve listed for sale nationally. I feature beautiful cars at every Barrett Jackson auction and have been fortunate to have sold some in the top 25 highest sales priced vehicles. I’ve also featured classic cars featured at the Carlisle Expo and Atlantic City auctions. Magazines such as Mustangs and Fords, Mustang Enthusiast, Mustang Times, Smoke Signals and the Dupont Registry have highlighted my cars. My cars are also featured on many websites such as Boze Forged and Lateral-G. I specialize in extremely detailed classic cars. I buy cars that are finished, I redesign other people’s restorations and also coordinate complete restorations from start to finish. I strongly feel my cars have that “POP” factor. Although my classic cars are custom I try to keep the perfect mixture of old and new.
The Market: I’ve been playing with classic cars for over ten years now and have realized that the classic car market is a great place to invest money. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong and when the economy isn’t strong the classic car market holds its own. I’ve sold cars for strong prices in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such great investments are because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars! I’ve learned it’s not just a certain group of people but all different types of people and ages. An example would be the Barrett Jackson auto auctions. Not only do millions of people watch it live on the Speed channel but hundreds of thousands of people attend these auctions.
I’ve always told people that extremely detailed classic cars will always attract top dollar. Everyone recognizes and appreciates attention to detail. Currently the custom classic car market is very strong mostly because every car is different from the next one. They each have their own character. The factory correct classic cars have overall also remained strong. The type of car and its availability, options and documentation plays a major part. People always mention that the classic car market is down in conversation but the reality is it isn’t. I ask people to elaborate on the statement they made and they get tongue twisted. Yes, certain cars a few years ago were bringing much more than they are today. An example would be a 1969 Camaro Z28. In 2007 I attended Barrett Jackson in Palm Beach, FL and every #1 condition 1969 Camaro Z28 was averaging $90,000+. Fast-forward three years later and there averaging $60,000+. The reason for the drop isn’t the classic car market or the economy; it’s the fact that the market was saturated with 1969 Camaro Z28’s. Most of buyers bought when the car was hot and then everyone and there brother went out and restored 1969 Camaros and now there’s multiple cars to chose from at every auction and every classic car website. The opposite thing has happened with other cars such as a 1969 Mustang Shelby GT500. A few years ago they were selling in the $60,000 range and now they’re selling in the $90,000 range. People who really study the classic car market realize it’s a very good to invest in classic cars but only if you know what’s hot and what’s not.
As I mentioned above, I’ve sold many custom classic cars over the years and this Chevelle you’re about to see is something very special and deserves top dollar. It’s got a great look and enough power to back it up! Read on...
The Description:
A few years ago I bought a beautiful 1970 Chevelle SS 454 recreation from a gentleman by the name of Clay Leak from Indiana. This Chevelle wasn’t only extremely detailed but it was fast! I really liked that car and as I expected it sold very quickly. Clay and I became very friendly as I do with most people I buy these classic cars from. I told Clay when he decided to build another car I would like to be the first call with the opportunity. Well a couple of years past by and guess what, I got a call from Clay. At first Clay wanted to build another 1970 Chevelle SS 454 recreation but I had something else in mind. Yes I wanted it to be a 1970 Chevelle but I wanted to design it with my own taste. One of the first things I do when designing a car is I pick out the wheels from Boze Forged. Boze Forged builds custom wheels that are spectacular. The wheel I chose was named “Injected” and I immediately knew that was what I was going to nick name the car!
This Chevelle was a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration as the photos listed below indicate. This was not a real SS from the factory but I didn’t care because I was building a custom car. The core of the body is original and only had to be patched in a few spots. Everything was media blasted, smoothed and primed before paint. Most of the sheet metal was replaced. The hood, front fenders, doors and trunk lid were painted off the car. When designing a car the paint has to have that “POP” factor and I really wanted something different so I chose Mercedes Benz Palladium Silver metallic with black racing stripes. It was the perfect color combination and came out spectacular. I work at a Mercedes Benz dealership and when that color came out in 2008 I knew eventually I would paint a car that color. Everything on the exterior is new including the glass. The exterior upgrades include a Chevy Bowtie on the front grill and custom black billet SS emblems with red Trim Part 496 numbers. I decided to not use fender trim and the SS emblem in the rear bumper. The Boze Forged wheels would be the icing on the cake. These wheels and tires look great! They fill up the inner fenders just perfectly and give the car an incredible stance.
Everything in the interior is also new. I wanted to keep the original look with a touch of modern upgrades. Some of the upgrades include Pro Car leather adjustable seats that are very comfortable and have a good distance of travel. The rear seat cover was custom made to match and came out sweet. It has a carbon fiber Coven dash with black auto meter gauges that light up red at night. The Flaming River “Cascade” leather wrapped steering wheel fits perfectly. It has a factory center console with a pistol grip shifter. Sitting in the car and wrapping your hand around the pistol grip handle feels like you’ve got the world in your hands. It’s equipped with Billet Specialties window cranks and door handles. Although most would prefer to hear the engine roar, you can slide in your favorite CD and listen to the music out the upgraded speakers. The custom carpeted black floor mats with a red Chevrolet bowtie at the extra touch. It’s also got a matching carpeted trunk mat. The interior of this Chevelle is very tastefully done.
As I mentioned above the engine compartment and undercarriage has been painted the same color as the exterior. I really think that finishes off a show quality car, so it reads neat and cleaner. Although I updated many things, I tried to keep the factory look present as well. An example would be the wiring in the engine compartment. I didn’t hide all the wires. Another example would be the undercarriage. The car isn’t mini tubbed and doesn’t have some crazy custom chassis. Some things have been upgraded and everything is extremely detailed. The heart of this car is a freshly built 496 Big Block that pushes some serious horsepower. It was painted the correct GM orange and is dressed with custom chrome valve covers, a March serpentine system, Holley carburetor, etc. All of the internal and external parts are high quality. The engine is paired with a freshly rebuilt Muncie 4-speed. The Hurst pistol grip shifter comes directly out the factory console. The power is transferred to the pavement through a freshly rebuilt Chevrolet 12 bolt rear end with posi traction. The 331 gears allow the car to be driven in city and on the highway. Don’t worry about a hot day because it’s cooled by a Summit Racing GM aluminum radiator and it’s equipped with a factory style air conditioning system for a comfortable interior. The CPP four-wheel power disc brakes are at all four corners and provide excellent stopping power. The chrome master cylinder matches the other engine components perfectly. Need I say anymore...
Conclusion: This Chevelle was built from start to finish by a gentleman who takes a lot of pride in his workmanship. Thousands of hours were invested to make the masterpiece. I’ve owned many classic cars but have only had the opportunity to design three cars from start to finish and this was one of them. I’m very happy with the way everything came out. It’s an extremely fresh restoration and only has about 150 test miles on it. The new owner of “Injected” will be proud to call it there’s. This Chevelle is in show quality condition and will be a crowd attraction! Vehicle can be inspected by appointment only. Please call me @ 401-339-8966 or email me with any questions. Thank you.
