Marc Shiliro's Classic Cars
You're looking at another beautiful classic car listed by MS CLASSIC CARS!
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 w/ 483 original street miles - "The Famous Tony Pizzi Camaro"
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS.  You might recognize my name or my business name from the beautiful classic cars, trucks and motorcycles I’ve collected and sold nationally.  I’ve got over 25 years of classic vehicle experience and continue to learn more every day. I’ve learned a lot and I’m educated in many different makes and models ranging from the early 1900’s to current. I specialize in beautiful classic vehicles that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I only collect number one and number two condition vehicles that are already completed. We slightly redesign them, service them and detail them. I have also coordinated restorations from start to finish but don’t do this anymore. Over the years I’ve collected and sold over 600 classic vehicles which can be seen on the company website sold page. The vehicles are sold to previous customers, referrals and are sold from advertising on various websites, online auctions and live auctions. MS CLASSIC CARS has set over 50 world record prices on various makes and models that I’m very proud of.  We’ve featured many classic vehicles at different auctions across the United States. We’ve had many vehicles that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites. Please note, I’m not bragging, I’m just confident. I consider myself to be an expert in the classic car business and would like to put my experience to work for you.

The MS CLASSIC CARS showroom is located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. This location was established in 2012. The MS CLASSIC CARS service department and multiple storage facilities are also located in Seekonk, Massachusetts.  The MS CLASSIC CARS operations are closed to the public.  A private viewing of a vehicle can be made scheduled by appointment Monday through Friday.  The MS CLASSIC CARS inventory consists of roughly 50 classic cars and trucks that we own, service and detail.  We’re the only dealership in the country that services every vehicle we sell and documents it with an invoice. I stand behind every vehicle we sell.  Each vehicle is presented with a detailed description, 150+ high quality photos and a video.  We don’t offer consignments.  When you call you deal directly with me. I know each vehicle well and will go over the vehicle of your interest in full detail.  I’ll also assist you with any other needs such as trades, financing, insurance or enclosed shipping.  I promise to make the process from start to finish easy and enjoyable.  I take a lot of pride in this business and our reputation reflects that.  I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.  “MS CLASSIC CARS isn’t just another dealer.  MS CLASSIC CARS is a brand.”

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The owner

I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over 25 years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars.  These people aren’t just one age group but all different ages ranging from very young to very old.  It’s a very diverse market.  I've learned it's not just people in the United States but its people all over the world.

Over the years I've noticed that the higher quality classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Over the last 20 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow.  Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline.  It’s all about supply and demand, not about a good or bad economy.  The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale.  The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments.  Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay.

Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time at Viti Mercedes Benz located in Tiverton, RI. They’re recognized for being one of the best Mercedes Benz dealerships in the country for customer service.  I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time.  Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership.  Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen which required using my family’s savings and acquiring loans such as a home equity line of credit.  I also took on a lot of overhead that I didn’t have before.  The bottom line is I went all in.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  “I’m putting my money where my mouth is”. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The Owner

This car was the product of a show quality rotisserie restoration that was completed in 2020. It retains most of the original sheet metal and many original parts throughout. The original color combination of the Rally Green w/ white stripes exterior and black interior is beautiful. The black interior is mostly original. The car is powered by the original matching numbers DZ302 V8 and M21 4-speed manual transmission. This car was certified on May 21st, 2020 by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance LLC and the report is included. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an amazing Z28.

As the original VIN number indicates this car was built in Norwood, OH as a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe with an 8 cylinder engine. As the original trim tag indicates this car was built in Norwood, OH on the first week of May. It also indicates it was built as a Z28 that was Rallye Green with black standard bucket interior. As the original Chevrolet New Vehicle Warranty and Owner Protection Plan booklet documents this car was sold to Americo A. Liberatore Jr on June 9th, 1969 by Weed Chevrolet located in Bristol, PA. This booklet and metal card is better known as the Protecto Plate. This information is also documented on the NCRS Shipping Data Report which also indicates that the GM official production date was May 12th, 1969. All of these items were certified as authentic by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance. The Protecto Plate, NCRS Shipping Date Report and Jerry MacNeish’s report are included. An original key chain from Weed Chevrolet is also included. The clean Pennsylvania title is in the second owners name and shows 469 miles. Since MS CLASSIC CARS is a dealer the new owner with officially be the third owner.

The story:
Americo Liberatore Jr. was from Bristol, PA and employed as a line mechanic at Weed Chevrolet located on Route 413 at Ford Road in Bristol, PA. He purchased this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 directly from them and took delivery on June 9th, 1969. It was originally was ordered as a very basic car with a flat hood and the following options: (D80) spoiler equipment, (G80) positract axle, 3.73 ratio, (J52) disc brakes, (M21) 4-speed transmission, (Z23) special interior group and (Z28) special engine and equipment package. The exterior color was Rally Green w/ white stripes and the interior color was black. From the information gathered it was the only 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ever sold at Weed Chevrolet. Once Americo Liberatore, Jr took delivery of this car he drove it a total of 469 miles before disconnecting the speedometer as it was set it up to run NHRA’s Stock Eliminator class. From that point forward it only had race miles. In 1969 and 1970, most Z28 Camaros ran in the F/Stock class. Class designation was based on factory horsepower to vehicle weight. During the later year part of 1970, Americo Liberatore, Jr teamed up with Tony Pizzi who was a well-known and successful racer in PA.  Americo Liberatore Jr had the car lettered up and campaigned it through Weed Chevrolet and Tony Pizzi Automotive. He campaigned the car through Weed Chevrolet not only because he worked there but also because they stored it for him at no charge. Tony Pizzi has been known for his prowess with Chevy rare cars, both big and small block. Nationally many fans knew him as the builder and driver of “that freak Z28”. Comments like, “he may be good with a small block, but let him try to build a rat” began to get under his skin. A decision was made to change classes. Tony Pizzi decided on a Pizzi prepped 396-375hp L78 engine for this car and removed the original DZ302 V8. That bumped the car up to B/Stock. Tony responded to the challenge with this 396/375hp Camaro B/S that only silenced the troops but sent them away mumbling. Eventually this car developed a very good reputation and became one of the fastest B/Stock Camaros in the country. In August-September of 1971, this Z28 Camaro made it to the final in class eliminations at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. This is considered the “Superbowl” of drag racing. Documented photos have surfaced of this Z28 racing in the F/Stock class at Delmar US 13 Dragway in 1969. Other photos, probably late 1970 and 1971 show this car at the same track running in B/Stock with the 396 L78 engine. With the racing success came several magazine articles on the car. One such article was in the April of 1972 issue of Super Stock and Drag Illustrated magazine. As quoted from this article, “Presently holding both ends of the record at 11.35 – 122.78, the car has recorded a best of 10.99 at over 127 mph in legal trim and with 7” tires. Backup for this run was an equally strong 11.02.” It should be noted that Pizzi’s reputation developed through his involvement with Bill Jenkins during the late 1960’s.
This Z28 eventually was retired from racing around 1974 or so. It sat in Americo Liberatore Jr’s garage until September of 2018 when the vehicle was sold to a gentleman who lived in Downington, PA. He owned this car for almost 50 years! Part of the negotiation process was that Americo Libertore Jr would so a Statement Under Oath. This was completed September 21st, 2018 by Blum-Moore Reporting Services in Doylestown, PA. The original report and a copy are included. The point of the report was to document the history of the car with the original owner.  When the car was purchased it was in need of a restoration but the bones were good and the original interior was very good. The car has been painted black and gold over the years. Americo Libertore Jr also had sold the original engine as well. The plan was to restore the car to its original condition. The gentleman who is now considered the second owner, found the original engine that Americo Liberatore had sold years before. He bought it back and repaired it to the car which was an epic moment. He immediately went to work on restoring the car. The car was place on a rotisserie and was meticulously restored. From the information gathered the car retains all the original sheet metal with exception of the rear quarters. They had to be replaced because of the modifications that were made for racing. When the doors were stripped there was even evidence of the original green paint. During the restoration many of the original parts were reused. Some of the original factory parts and race parts were saved as well. Some of those parts were painted and included. The restoration was completed in 2020. Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance certified the car on May 21st, 2020 and the report is included. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car in July of 2020.

The exterior of this car is absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word. The rotisserie restoration was completed in 2020 so it looks fresh. The body is really straight and the body gaps are very nice throughout. It’s equipped with a flat hood, front spoiler and rear spoiler. The hood, doors and deck lid close very nicely. The car was finished in its original color of Rally Green with white racing stripes. The paint is beautiful and has been detailed to a show quality shine. Magnetic decals were made to look as close to the original decals as possible when the car was raced. The outer edges were then painted the color of the car so they would look like they were painted permanent. These can be applied and taken off anytime. This was an excellent idea the second owner had when doing the restoration. All of the glass was replaced new during the restoration. Everything on the exterior was replaced or restored such as the window trim, wipers, driver’s side door mirror, front grill, headlight bezels, headlights, parking lights, front bumper, door handles, lower side molding, rear taillights and rear bumper. The keys work the door locks and trunk lock. The car sits on the correct 15” Rally style wheels. The wheels are wrapped with new Firestone Sport Car 200 E70-15 4-ply tires.

The interior of this car is in beautiful condition throughout. It retains most of the original black interior with exception of the door panels and carpeting. As stated in Jerry MacNeish’s report, “excellent original interior, door panels and carpet were replaced, code #711, no console or gauges.” Even the steering wheel is original. MS CLASSIC CARS replaced the dash pad with a reproduction dash pad. The one that was on there didn’t fit well and looked bad. This interior is actually nicer than most restored interiors. It’s hard to imagine this interior is 51 years old.  As mentioned above it was ordered with limited options so it has no clock, radio or console. The headliner is tight and the dome light works. The dash pad, dash, dash hardware, gauges, steering column, steering wheel, door panels, door hardware, Hurst shifter, bucket seats, rear seat and seat belts are all in great condition. Everything in the interior is in working order including the heating system. The original odometer currently reads 483 miles. The trunk compartment was nicely restored with the correct style trunk mat and spare tire cover. The car still retains the original spare wheel and tire!

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. As stated on Jerry’s report, “Very good, engine bay restored to new as delivered original condition.” Some items would need to be corrected if it was going to be judged which are outlined on Jerrys report. Everything in the engine compartment has been restored or replaced such as the hood insulation, hood springs, wiper motor, wiring, radiator, battery, alternator, etc. The radiator shroud is original to the car. It does have some light scratches but was used to keep some of the originality. The car is powered by its original matching numbers DZ302 V8. As stated in Jerry MacNeish’s report, “V0425DZ assembly date, 302-290hp V8 engine, #618 casting, cast A169, vin stamp on oil filter boss, original to vehicle.” This engine was completely rebuilt during the restoration and it runs excellent. The engine breathes through the correct style factory exhaust manifolds and exhaust system. It sounds super sweet especially when driving it. The engine is coupled to the original 4-speed manual transmission. As stated in Jerry MacNeish’s report, “P9D29B assembly date, M21 Muncie 4-speed, #660 case, vin stamp is 475 units off, factory error, original to car.” The transmission was gone through and shifts beautifully. The power is transferred to the 12-bolt rear axle. As stated on Jerry MacNeish’s report, “BM0927G1 assembly date, replacement 12-bolt rear axle, #860NF casting, originally equipped with axle code BU0403G.” This car performs excellent and has been dialed in mechanically by MS CLASSIC CARS.

The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. The undercarriage is nice enough to put mirrors underneath at a car show. As stated on Jerry’s report, “Solid original floors in very good condition, minor dents, no rust issues.” The undercarriage was finished in the correct shade of black with the correct overspray. Everything underneath was restored or replaced such as the steering system, suspension components, braking system and fuel system. It still retains the original front brake calipers and rotors!

In closing, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is truly “The One” for any enthusiast or collector. As stated on Jerry MacNeish’s report, “It should be noted that restored high performance cars such as this 1969 Z28 with documented racing history may command a higher estimated value than a standard restored Z28 Camaro. This car does qualify under the vintage racing category.”

**PLEASE CALL MS CLASSIC CARS OWNER MARC SCHILIRO FOR A VERY ACCURATE VERBAL DESCRIPTION OF THIS VEHICLE**

**EVERYTHING IN THIS LISTING THAT IS PICTURED IS INCLUDED**

***MS CLASSIC CARS purchases beautiful classic vehicles that we’ve serviced and detailed unlike most classic vehicles that are currently being advertised for sale.   This is documented with an invoice pictured below.  Please understand every vehicle needs something.  Some vehicles just need a lot more than others.  At MS CLASSIC CARS we take eliminate the surprises.  We’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking. ***

MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $6,889.43 servicing this vehicle including the parts and labor.  An invoice is pictured below that documents everything.  MS CLASSIC CARS also invested $600.00 in detailing the vehicle from top to bottom.

Unfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers, private parties and auctions aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale.  This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different.  The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages.  Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration.  An example would be a classic vehicle that's  being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc.  Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored.  There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components.  The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale.  A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly!

MS CLASSIC CARS specializes in beautiful classic cars and trucks that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I personally have selected these vehicles and take pride in what I represent.  I'm not a classic car dealer who is only looking to make a quick buck.  I’ve seen dealers and private parties purchase classic vehicles at auctions and online and immediately list them for sale.  Most of these vehicles aren’t being advertised correctly and haven’t been serviced or detailed.  This business is my career and my reputation which means everything to me.  I do the best of my ability to represent quality classic cars and advertise them honestly.  To be clear I’m not in the restoration business.  I represent classic vehicles that have already been restored that we’ve serviced and detailed.

This vehicle is owned by MS CLASSIC CARS and is located in Seekonk, MA.  I personally have seen, touched and driven this vehicle.  This vehicle has been through a service and detail process which is documented with an MS CLASSIC CARS invoice. I'll personally go over the entire vehicle and tell you everything I know about it.  I'll also give you my opinion if it’s truly the right vehicle for you. I’ll consider all trades and also offer financing if necessary.  Once you've committed to purchase a classic vehicle from MS CLASSIC CARS, I’ll make it a very easy process from start to finish.  Once the funds have cleared I'll immediately mail the paperwork USPS 2-day air with tracking number. I’ll also assist in shipping your vehicle to its new home with an enclosed carrier. Once the vehicle is loaded inside the enclosed trailer we’ll cover it with a new plastic cover and email you photos.

If you've read the introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree I'm a bit of a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic vehicles. MS CLASSIC CARS has a great reputation and we continue to raise the bar in the classic car and truck world.  I sell our classic cars and trucks very quickly because consumers see the value.  I look forward to working with you.  Please read the company website testimonials and read our reviews online. Please also ask someone who knows about MS CLASSIC CARS.  Thank you for the opportunity!

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – the owner
