Marc Shiliro's Classic Cars
You're looking at another beautiful classic car listed by MS CLASSIC CARS!
1972 Buick Skylark Sun Coupe Custom "Ram Air 455"
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS.  You might recognize my name or my business name from the beautiful classic cars, trucks and motorcycles I’ve collected and sold nationally.  I’ve got over 25 years of classic vehicle experience and continue to learn more every day. I’ve learned a lot and I’m educated in many different makes and models ranging from the early 1900’s to current. I specialize in beautiful classic vehicles that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I only collect number one and number two condition vehicles that are already completed. We slightly redesign them, service them and detail them. I have also coordinated restorations from start to finish but don’t do this anymore. Over the years I’ve collected and sold over 600 classic vehicles which can be seen on the company website sold page. The vehicles are sold to previous customers, referrals and are sold from advertising on various websites, online auctions and live auctions. We’ve featured many classic vehicles at different auctions across the United States. We’ve had many vehicles that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites. I’m proud to say that MS CLASSIC CARS has accomplished some great things with our vehicles over the years. People recognize value in our vehicles and doing business with us. I consider myself to be an expert in the classic car business and would like to put my experience to work for you.

The MS CLASSIC CARS showroom is located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. This location was established in 2012. The MS CLASSIC CARS service department and multiple storage facilities are also located in Seekonk, Massachusetts.  The MS CLASSIC CARS operations are closed to the public.  A private viewing of a vehicle can be made scheduled by appointment Monday through Friday.  The MS CLASSIC CARS inventory consists of roughly 50 classic cars and trucks that we own, service and detail.  We’re the only dealership in the country that services every vehicle we sell and documents it with an invoice. I stand behind every vehicle we sell.  Each vehicle is presented with a detailed description, 150+ high quality photos and a video.  We don’t offer consignments.  When you call you deal directly with me. I know each vehicle well and will go over the vehicle of your interest in full detail.  I’ll also assist you with any other needs such as trades, financing, insurance or enclosed shipping.  I promise to make the process from start to finish easy and enjoyable.  I take a lot of pride in this business and our reputation reflects that.  I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.  “MS CLASSIC CARS isn’t just another dealer.  MS CLASSIC CARS is a brand.”

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The owner

I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over 25 years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars.  These people aren’t just one age group but all different ages ranging from very young to very old.  It’s a very diverse market.  I've learned it's not just people in the United States but its people all over the world.

Over the years I've noticed that the higher quality classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Over the last 20 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow.  Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline.  It’s all about supply and demand, not about a good or bad economy.  The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale.  The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments.  Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay.

Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time at Viti Mercedes Benz located in Tiverton, RI. They’re recognized for being one of the best Mercedes Benz dealerships in the country for customer service.  I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time.  Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership.  Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen which required using my family’s savings and acquiring loans such as a home equity line of credit.  I also took on a lot of overhead that I didn’t have before.  The bottom line is I went all in.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  “I’m putting my money where my mouth is”. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The Owner

As quoted from: By Matt Litwin from November 2016 issue of Hemmings Motor News,
“How much over book would you be willing to pay to obtain a truly rare car from the early Seventies? While some may find it hard to group "rare," "car," and "Seventies," into the same sentence, history has proven these three words can, in fact, commingle. As proof, we present this 1972 Buick Skylark Sun Coupe that we spotted for sale deep within one of the swap meet fields at the annual AACA Eastern Fall Meet, better known as Hershey, last fall.
Available as a trim option only in conjunction with the Skylark 350 Sport Coupe sub-series, the one-year-only Sun Coupe provided golden corresponding emblems on each C-pillar and a manually operated folding vinyl sunroof, along with the availability of bright red or gold carpeting "dependent on interior trim color and combination." The seemingly meager upgrade didn't mandate limitations: All other Skylark 350 Sport Coupe features were included, such as the two-barrel 350 engine, three-speed manual transmission, bench seat, hand-crank windows, etc. Options included a four-barrel version of the 350, an automatic transmission or four-speed manual, bucket seats, choice of console, radio, air conditioning, five-spoke road wheels and more.
Of the three line items that the Sun Coupe upgrade provided, the manual sunroof was also available as a stand-alone option on the base Skylark, Skylark 350, Skylark Custom and the Skylark-based GS. Which might explain why the Sun Coupe, with its gold script and special carpet, is rarely seen today.
Just how rare is it? Buick didn't keep a detailed record, further confirmed by inquiries to the Buick Heritage Alliance. Conversely, a few "unofficial" sources list an array of production
numbers: 3,943, 3,923, or 3,450 units; however, research among some well-versed Buick restorers and specialists has concluded that the Sun Coupe's production numbers fell somewhere between 1,600 and 1,800 units.”
As the original VIN number indicates this car was built in Flint, MI as a 1972 Buick Skylark 2-door hardtop with a 350 V8 with 4-barrell carburetor. As the original trim tag indicates this car was built in Flint, MI as a 1972 Buick Skylark 2-door hardtop coupe that had a Fire Red exterior with a white vinyl top and a white interior.

The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition throughout. This car was the product of a frame off nut and bolt restoration. From the information gathered this was a rust free car prior to the restoration so it retains all the original sheet metal. During the restoration a GS 455 Ram Air Hood, GS 455 rear spoiler and GS 455 dual sport mirrors were added. The body is very straight with good gaps throughout. The car was re-painted in its original shade of red which dresses this body style very nicely. The paint is show quality and has been detailed to a show quality shine by MS CLASSIC CARS. The red paint is complemented by a white vinyl top that rolls back for the sunroof. All of the glass is new throughout and crystal clear. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the window trim, wipers, front bumper, door handles, fender trim, rear bumper and emblems. The GS emblems are on the grille, fenders and truck. The Sun Coupe emblems are on the rear quarters. MS CLASSIC CARS added a new front GSX chin spoiler and lower side moldings with red stripes. MS CLASSIC CARS also painted the front grille and headlight buckets black to match the hood vents and rear tail light panel. The car has a great stance on 18” US Mag 10-spoke wheels with matte gray centers, polished lip and Buick logo center caps. The wheels are wrapped with Nitto NT555 G2 tires that are 245-40-ZR18 on the front and 255-45-ZR18 on the rear. This is one great looking early 70’s muscle car!

The black, white and red interior of this car is also in beautiful condition throughout. The black trim is found on the headliner, dash, steering wheel, door panel and center console. The white trim is found on the door panels and seats. The red is found on the door panel and carpeting. The simulated wood on the dash, door panels and center console adds a touch of class. It’s very spacious and comfortable inside the cabin. The entire interior was restored very nicely with Legendary products. The black headliner looks great and folds back nicely. Everything has been restored or replaced such as the dome lights, sun visors, rear view mirror, dash, gauge cluster, door sill plates, door panels, door hardware including driver’s side mirror control, pedals and center console with horse shoe shifter and storage compartment. The dash gauges are crystal clear and include an RPM gauge. Some interior upgrades include Equus water temp and oil pressure gauges, tilt steering column with billet levers, Deluxe Sport steering wheel, R134 converted air conditioning, Retrosound stereo system with upgraded speakers and the custom front bucket seats which are contoured seats but upholstered to match the original. A USB and AUX input was added where the factory cigarette lighter would be. It’s equipped with front and rear seat black seat belts. The red carpeting is covered with matching red carpeted floor mats. Everything in the interior is in working order such as the dome lights, under dash lights, headlights, turn signals, horn, gauges, heating system, air conditioning and stereo. The trunk compartment was restored and painted. There is no spare tire or tools included.

The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout with many upgrades. The back side of the GS 455 Ram Air hood has a satin black finish with new insulation. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support are also stain black. The car is powered by a 1970 Buick 455/350HP V8 (Code SR). The engine was completely rebuilt and bored .30 over with a Stage 1 cam. The engine was painted red and dressed with red valve covers. The engine is equipped with a functional GS 455 Ram Air system, Quick Fuel 750 carburetor, HEI distributor, red Performance 8.5mm Ferrite wires and spark plug covers. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and custom dual exhaust system with Pypes mufflers and electric cut outs. The electric cut outs are operated with a remote control and work excellent. The engine is cooled by an oversized aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. It’s equipped with a CPP quick ratio steering box which is a great improvement over the factory setup. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The driveshaft was balanced and MS CLASSI CARS replaced the yoke. The 10-bolt rear end with Eaton Tru-Trac POSI and 3.42 gears was rebuilt by MS CLASSIC CARS. This car has a great drivetrain that operates very smoothly.

The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout with many upgrades. The frame was powder coated black. The floors were coated with a textured paint for durability. The entire steering system, suspension system, braking system and fuel system was gone through. It’s equipped with Ride Tech suspension with coilover shocks, Strong Arm Control arms and heavy duty sway bars. It’s also equipped with Wilwood four wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors.

**PLEASE CALL MS CLASSIC CARS OWNER MARC SCHILIRO FOR A VERY ACCURATE VERBAL DESCRIPTION OF THIS VEHICLE**

***MS CLASSIC CARS only purchases number one and number two condition classic vehicles. We service and detail every vehicle unlike most classic vehicles that are currently being advertised for sale. MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $11,590.30 servicing and detailing this vehicle. This is documented with an invoice pictured below. We’re the only classic car dealership in the country that does this.  Please understand every vehicle needs something.  Some vehicles just need a lot more than others.  At MS CLASSIC CARS we take eliminate the surprises.  We’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking. ***

Unfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers, private parties and auctions aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale.  This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different.  The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages.  Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration.  An example would be a classic vehicle that's  being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc.  Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored.  There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components.  The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale.  A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly!

MS CLASSIC CARS specializes in beautiful classic cars and trucks that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I personally have selected these vehicles and take pride in what I represent.  I'm not a classic car dealer who is only looking to make a quick buck.  I’ve seen dealers and private parties purchase classic vehicles at auctions and online and immediately list them for sale.  Most of these vehicles aren’t being advertised correctly and haven’t been serviced or detailed.  This business is my career and my reputation which means everything to me.  I do the best of my ability to represent quality classic cars and advertise them honestly.  To be clear I’m not in the restoration business.  I represent classic vehicles that have already been restored that we’ve serviced and detailed.

This vehicle is owned by MS CLASSIC CARS and is located in Seekonk, MA.  I personally have seen, touched and driven this vehicle.  This vehicle has been through a service and detail process which is documented with an MS CLASSIC CARS invoice. I'll personally go over the entire vehicle and tell you everything I know about it.  I'll also give you my opinion if it’s truly the right vehicle for you. I’ll consider all trades and also offer financing if necessary.  Once you've committed to purchase a classic vehicle from MS CLASSIC CARS, I’ll make it a very easy process from start to finish.  Once the funds have cleared I'll immediately mail the paperwork USPS 2-day air with tracking number. I’ll also assist in shipping your vehicle to its new home with an enclosed carrier. Once the vehicle is loaded inside the enclosed trailer we’ll cover it with a new plastic cover and email you photos.

If you've read the introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree I'm a bit of a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic vehicles. MS CLASSIC CARS has a great reputation and we continue to raise the bar in the classic car and truck world.  I sell our classic cars and trucks very quickly because consumers see the value.  I look forward to working with you.  Please read the company website testimonials and read our reviews online. Please also ask someone who knows about MS CLASSIC CARS.  Thank you for the opportunity!

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – the owner
