Marc Shiliro's Classic Cars
You're looking at another beautiful classic car listed by MS CLASSIC CARS!
1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe w/ 17 original miles. "17 original one owner miles"
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS.  You might recognize my name or my business name from the beautiful classic cars, trucks and motorcycles I’ve collected and sold nationally.  I’ve got over 25 years of classic vehicle experience and continue to learn more every day. I’ve learned a lot and I’m educated in many different makes and models ranging from the early 1900’s to current. I specialize in beautiful classic vehicles that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I only collect number one and number two condition vehicles that are already completed. We slightly redesign them, service them and detail them. I have also coordinated restorations from start to finish but don’t do this anymore. Over the years I’ve collected and sold over 600 classic vehicles which can be seen on the company website sold page. The vehicles are sold to previous customers, referrals and are sold from advertising on various websites, online auctions and live auctions. MS CLASSIC CARS has set over 50 world record prices on various makes and models that I’m very proud of.  We’ve featured many classic vehicles at different auctions across the United States. We’ve had many vehicles that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites. Please note, I’m not bragging, I’m just confident. I consider myself to be an expert in the classic car business and would like to put my experience to work for you.

The MS CLASSIC CARS showroom is located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. This location was established in 2012. The MS CLASSIC CARS service department and multiple storage facilities are also located in Seekonk, Massachusetts.  The MS CLASSIC CARS operations are closed to the public.  A private viewing of a vehicle can be made scheduled by appointment Monday through Friday.  The MS CLASSIC CARS inventory consists of roughly 50 classic cars and trucks that we own, service and detail.  We’re the only dealership in the country that services every vehicle we sell and documents it with an invoice. I stand behind every vehicle we sell.  Each vehicle is presented with a detailed description, 150+ high quality photos and a video.  We don’t offer consignments.  When you call you deal directly with me. I know each vehicle well and will go over the vehicle of your interest in full detail.  I’ll also assist you with any other needs such as trades, financing, insurance or enclosed shipping.  I promise to make the process from start to finish easy and enjoyable.  I take a lot of pride in this business and our reputation reflects that.  I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.  “MS CLASSIC CARS isn’t just another dealer.  MS CLASSIC CARS is a brand.”

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The owner

I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over 25 years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars.  These people aren’t just one age group but all different ages ranging from very young to very old.  It’s a very diverse market.  I've learned it's not just people in the United States but its people all over the world.

Over the years I've noticed that the higher quality classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Over the last 20 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow.  Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline.  It’s all about supply and demand, not about a good or bad economy.  The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale.  The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments.  Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay.

Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time at Viti Mercedes Benz located in Tiverton, RI. They’re recognized for being one of the best Mercedes Benz dealerships in the country for customer service.  I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time.  Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership.  Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen which required using my family’s savings and acquiring loans such as a home equity line of credit.  I also took on a lot of overhead that I didn’t have before.  The bottom line is I went all in.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  “I’m putting my money where my mouth is”. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The Owner

“The red 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe was the poster child back in the day. Many people of all ages fell in love with the GTS Coupe and dreamed of owning one. I can only imagine how many posters and magazine pages were taped to bedroom walls across the world. Twenty three years later and many people still have this car on their bucket list. The Dodge Viper was discontinued in 2017. The value of Dodge Vipers have been on the rise ever since especially over the last year. The car listed here today is truly a blue chip investment.”

Marc Schiliro – the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS

This gorgeous 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe is a documented one owner vehicle with only 17 original miles. Yes, seventeen original miles. This car could be the lowest documented 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe known to exist. It’s one of only 1,671 GTS Coupes built in 1997. It’s loaded with original documentation such as the window sticker, Vehicle Buyers Order, Odometer Statement, Illinois Department of Revenue Sales Tax Form, Chrysler Customer One Care information and owner’s manuals. It has a clean Car Fax report that is included. This car is in excellent original condition throughout. The car sports the desirable color combination of a Viper Red exterior and black interior. The original factory paint shines beautifully. It’s loaded with factory standard equipment including air conditioning. The car is powered by the original 8.0L Aluminum V-10 engine with 6-speed manual overdrive transmission.

The Story as quoted from original owner,
“I purchased the car through a very good friend who had a Dodge dealership in Crawfordsville, IN but was not authorized to sell a Viper. They found one for me through Roanoke Motors and it was delivered to Horner’s Corner in Crawfordsville, IN.  Because I had purchased another ’97 and didn’t know my friend was still trying to get one for me I didn’t have good/safe storage for the car so I left it sitting in the dealership on display for a number of years.  They ultimately sold the dealership and I trailered it back to my house in Zionsville, IN.  I stored it there in a climate controlled garage attached to my house for a few years.  We did some remodeling and it was moved to a friend’s house while that construction was ongoing and then returned to my garage.  I began collecting a few other cars and needed additional storage so I rented a climate controlled warehouse/shop where the car was stored for many years.  I still have the warehouse/shop but moved it to my garage where you picked it up about a year ago in anticipation of selling it as it would be easier to show folks that wanted to see the car in person. It was serviced at Champion Dodge (and whatever it was called prior to that) and every time it was trailered to/from the dealership.  Tom Sessions did the service work.  He was brought in to the dealership by the local Viper club to work on club member cars a few times each year. Even though the odometer said 10 on the original title (from the COA) it was actually 13--14 by the time I took possession.  I honestly can’t remember how the 3-4 miles I put on the car got there – more than simply moving on/off a trailer I realize. Hope this helps with the history/explanation.”

As the original window sticker indicates this car was ordered by and shipped to Roanoke Motor Co, Inc. located in Roanoke, IL. From the information gathered this Roanoke Motor Co, Inc. was one of the leading Dodge Viper dealerships in the country. The car was ordered with a Viper Red exterior and a black interior. The only optional equipment was the 17” cast aluminum polished wheels. As the Vehicle Buyers Order, Odometer Disclosure statement and the Illinois Department of Revenue Sales Tax form indicates the car was sold on July 28th, 1997 to the first owner who lived in Zionsville, IN. These cars were extremely hard to get and dealers charged the full sticker price. As the paperwork indicates the sale price was $70,000 plus all taxes. As the paperwork indicates the car had 10 miles at time of delivery. The original owner had two 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupes so he decided to enjoy one and tuck the other one away as an investment. During it’s time in storage it was always kept indoors and covered with a car cover. As the service invoice indicates he had it completely serviced in March of 2011 at Champion Chrysler. The service mostly consisted of changing all the fluids. He invested a total of $1,152.35 and the service invoice is included. After the oil was changed he sent the original oil to Blackstone Laboratories located in Fort Wayne, IN. As quoted from the comments “We don’t see anything here that shouldn’t be present in factory oil. The metals are from wear-in of “new parts” and the silicon is from sand-casted parts and factory sealers.”  The original owner decided after 23 years of ownership it was time to sell the car. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased the car in November of 2020.

The following items are included:
Original documentation including window sticker, Vehicle Buyers Order, Odometer Statement, Sales Tax Form, Chrysler Customer One information, Viper of America envelopes addressed to original owner, service invoice and original advertisement.
Original owner’s manuals.
Original rear view mirror.
Original two keyless remotes and two keys.
Original license plate bracket and hardware still in the sealed plastic.
Dodge Viper GTS car cover.
Clean Car Fax report.

The exterior of this car is in absolutely beautiful original condition throughout. It sports all of its original factory Viper Red paint. The paint was tested by MS CLASSIC CARS with an electronic paint meter and it passed with flying colors. The paint is in excellent overall condition. It was detailed to a brilliant shine by MS CLASSIC CARS. Everything on the exterior such as the glass, headlights, taillights and emblems is in excellent condition. It still retains the original selling dealer sticker on the rear glass. Everything on the exterior is in working order such as the headlights, fog lights, turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, etc. The car sits on the original 17” cast aluminum polished wheels. The wheels are wrapped with the original Michelin Pilot SX MXX3 tires. The front tires are 275-40-17 and the rear tires are 335-35-17. The tires do have minor flat spots from sitting which is common with any vehicle. It would be very hard to find another 1997 Dodge Viper with a better exterior!

The interior of this car is also in absolutely beautiful original condition throughout. The interior of this car is surprisingly spacious and comfortable even for a taller person. It’s equipped with manually adjustable foot pedals. The black premium leather highback bucket seats and all the trim is in excellent condition. It still retains the original air bag warning tag. It also retains the original carpeted floor mats.  Everything in the interior is in working order such as the gauges, power windows, air conditioning and factory installed Alpine 200 watt AM/FM/CD premium sound system. The rear view mirror fell off which was common with second generation Vipers. MS CLASSIC CARS didn’t want to install it in the wrong location which would lead to assumptions so we left it off. The rear compartment is equally as nice and retains the original spare. The rear glass pumps don’t hold. MS CLASSIC CARS didn’t want to replace them for obvious reasons. This interior seriously looks and smells new!

The engine compartment is all original and highly detailed throughout. It still retains all the original factory paint marks and stickers. There are no signs of any oxidation or rust. Everything presents fresh and new unlike many extremely low mileage cars do. The car is powered by the original 8.0L Aluminum V-10 engine. This engine was rated with 450HP from the factory. The car starts right up and sounds sweet out the stainless dual rear exhaust. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual overdrive transmission. The clutch feels great.

The undercarriage is also all original and highly detailed throughout. It still retains all the original factory paint marks and stickers. There are no signs of any oxidation or rust. Everything presents fresh and new unlike many extremely low mileage cars do. All of the steering, suspension and braking components work as they should. There are no leaks.

The car listed here today is truly a blue chip investment and a great opportunity!

**PLEASE CALL MS CLASSIC CARS OWNER MARC SCHILIRO FOR A VERY ACCURATE VERBAL DESCRIPTION OF THIS VEHICLE**

***MS CLASSIC CARS only purchases number one and number two condition classic vehicles. We service and detail every vehicle unlike most classic vehicles that are currently being advertised for sale. We didn’t service this car because it has 17 original miles and everything is in working order. This car is the exception of the rule. MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $600.00 detailing this vehicle. At MS CLASSIC CARS we take eliminate the surprises.  We’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking. ***

Unfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers, private parties and auctions aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale.  This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different.  The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages.  Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration.  An example would be a classic vehicle that's  being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc.  Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored.  There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components.  The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale.  A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly!

MS CLASSIC CARS specializes in beautiful classic cars and trucks that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I personally have selected these vehicles and take pride in what I represent.  I'm not a classic car dealer who is only looking to make a quick buck.  I’ve seen dealers and private parties purchase classic vehicles at auctions and online and immediately list them for sale.  Most of these vehicles aren’t being advertised correctly and haven’t been serviced or detailed.  This business is my career and my reputation which means everything to me.  I do the best of my ability to represent quality classic cars and advertise them honestly.  To be clear I’m not in the restoration business.  I represent classic vehicles that have already been restored that we’ve serviced and detailed.

This vehicle is owned by MS CLASSIC CARS and is located in Seekonk, MA.  I personally have seen, touched and driven this vehicle.  This vehicle has been through a service and detail process which is documented with an MS CLASSIC CARS invoice. I'll personally go over the entire vehicle and tell you everything I know about it.  I'll also give you my opinion if it’s truly the right vehicle for you. I’ll consider all trades and also offer financing if necessary.  Once you've committed to purchase a classic vehicle from MS CLASSIC CARS, I’ll make it a very easy process from start to finish.  Once the funds have cleared I'll immediately mail the paperwork USPS 2-day air with tracking number. I’ll also assist in shipping your vehicle to its new home with an enclosed carrier. Once the vehicle is loaded inside the enclosed trailer we’ll cover it with a new plastic cover and email you photos.

If you've read the introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree I'm a bit of a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic vehicles. MS CLASSIC CARS has a great reputation and we continue to raise the bar in the classic car and truck world.  I sell our classic cars and trucks very quickly because consumers see the value.  I look forward to working with you.  Please read the company website testimonials and read our reviews online. Please also ask someone who knows about MS CLASSIC CARS.  Thank you for the opportunity!

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – the owner
