Marc Shiliro's Classic Cars
You're looking at another beautiful classic car listed by MS CLASSIC CARS!
1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS - Documented One Owner. Our most special car ever!
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS.  You might recognize my name or my business name from the beautiful classic cars, trucks and motorcycles I’ve collected and sold nationally.  I’ve got over 25 years of classic vehicle experience and continue to learn more every day. I’ve learned a lot and I’m educated in many different makes and models ranging from the early 1900’s to current. I specialize in beautiful classic vehicles that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I only collect number one and number two condition vehicles that are already completed. We slightly redesign them, service them and detail them. I have also coordinated restorations from start to finish but don’t do this anymore. Over the years I’ve collected and sold over 600 classic vehicles which can be seen on the company website sold page. The vehicles are sold to previous customers, referrals and are sold from advertising on various websites, online auctions and live auctions. We’ve featured many classic vehicles at different auctions across the United States. We’ve had many vehicles that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites. I’m proud to say that MS CLASSIC CARS has accomplished some great things with our vehicles over the years. People recognize value in our vehicles and doing business with us. I consider myself to be an expert in the classic car business and would like to put my experience to work for you.

The MS CLASSIC CARS showroom is located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. This location was established in 2012. The MS CLASSIC CARS service department and multiple storage facilities are also located in Seekonk, Massachusetts.  The MS CLASSIC CARS operations are closed to the public.  A private viewing of a vehicle can be made scheduled by appointment Monday through Friday.  The MS CLASSIC CARS inventory consists of roughly 50 classic cars and trucks that we own, service and detail.  We’re the only dealership in the country that services every vehicle we sell and documents it with an invoice. I stand behind every vehicle we sell.  Each vehicle is presented with a detailed description, 150+ high quality photos and a video.  We don’t offer consignments.  When you call you deal directly with me. I know each vehicle well and will go over the vehicle of your interest in full detail.  I’ll also assist you with any other needs such as trades, financing, insurance or enclosed shipping.  I promise to make the process from start to finish easy and enjoyable.  I take a lot of pride in this business and our reputation reflects that.  I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.  “MS CLASSIC CARS isn’t just another dealer.  MS CLASSIC CARS is a brand.”

Marc Schiliro – The owner

I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over 25 years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars.  These people aren’t just one age group but all different ages ranging from very young to very old.  It’s a very diverse market.  I've learned it's not just people in the United States but its people all over the world.

Over the years I've noticed that the higher quality classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Over the last 20 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow.  Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline.  It’s all about supply and demand, not about a good or bad economy.  The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale.  The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments.  Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay.

Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time at Viti Mercedes Benz located in Tiverton, RI. They’re recognized for being one of the best Mercedes Benz dealerships in the country for customer service.  I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time.  Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership.  Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen which required using my family’s savings and acquiring loans such as a home equity line of credit.  I also took on a lot of overhead that I didn’t have before.  The bottom line is I went all in.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  “I’m putting my money where my mouth is”. Thank you.

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396/360 “L34” 4-speed Coupe – Documented One Owner

“I’ve sold over 700 vehicles over the years and this is the most special vehicle of them all.”

Marc Schiliro

Certified authentic by expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance on 12-03-2021.

Dedicated to Robert and Karen Chvala, Jr.

This stunning one owner 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396/360HP “L34” 4-speed Coupe is the most special vehicle in MS CLASSIC CARS history. Yes, MS CLASSIC CARS purchased this Chevelle from the original owner’s on October 4th, 2021. Not only is this a documented one owner vehicle with 59,939 original miles but it’s loaded with original documentation, it retains its original VIN tag and trim tag, it retains all of its original sheet metal, it retains its extremely rare original color combination which is possibly one of one, it’s original engine, it’s original transmission and its original rear end. To put the icing on the cake it’s equipped with some desirable factory options and has been certified authentic by expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance on December 3rd, 2021. Jerry’s report, Certificate of Authenticity and photos with the Chevelle during the inspection process are included.

The original owner’s names are Robert and Karen Chvala, Jr. who lived in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob worked as a mechanic for Dewey Smith Chevrolet Company also located in Omaha, Nebraska.  Bob was currently driving a 1960 Chevrolet convertible but he wanted a new Chevelle so he decided to trade his car in. He ordered this Chevelle exactly the way he desired which included the special order color combination of a Regal Red exterior and Ivory imitation leather with black trim interior. The factory options would include a black vinyl top, tinted glass, power steering, PB radio, console, Astro bucket seats, 360HP Turbojet V8, 4-speed transmission and Positract rear axle with 3.55 gears. This Chevelle was built in Kansas City, Missouri on the second week of June. Since it was labeled sold it was delivered to the dealership very quickly. Bob and Karen completed all the paperwork on June 16th, 1966 which is fully documented. The original documentation includes the Bill of Sale, Retail Installment Contract, Bank Life Insurance Certificate, Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan that’s referred to as the Warranty Protect-O-Plate and the actual Nebraska title from 1966. Yes, this Chevelle still has the original Nebraska title in Bob and Karen’s name. All the original documentation is included. The original dealership Cars Owner’s Companion folder, original factory owner’s manuals and original dealership Chevrolet brochures are also included. Prior to taking delivery of the Chevelle it was undercoated at the dealership as noted on the Bill of Sale.  Bob and Karen provided a letter that was labeled “This is a story of our 1966 Chevelle SS 396”. This letter was signed by both Bob and Karen on October 13th, 2021. It was then notarized on October 15th, 2021. This letter along with an All-Purpose Acknowledgment with notary is included. As the letter states, “The family car was used to take our kids back and forth to school and on many trips. The boys loved this car because it was really fast and was very different from the other cars in the parking lot at their baseball games. Karen went to work as a Laboratory Technician, so we bought a racing boat and now the Chevelle was pulling the racing boat to various races.” In the mid 70’s Bob decided to go through the mechanics of the car. He parked the Chevelle in the garage with roughly 59,000 miles to service the engine, transmission and rear end. To be clear, the engine, transmission and rear end weren’t rebuilt but completely serviced. Once it was completed he delivered the car to a friend who was going to body work and paint. The car did have minor rust on the driver’s side rear quarter and the paint was starting to show its age. Unfortunately, the car sat at his friends in a garage for 22 years and was never painted. At this point in time Bob and Karen decided to complete the job and they took it to a restoration shop. As Bob and Karen stated in the letter, “Big decisions lie ahead. For example, we added date coded plug wires, heater hoses, diodes in the alternator, all new glass and we had the stock front and rear bumpers re-chromed. And that wasn’t all. There were hundreds of decisions yet to be made. After getting the car back home completely restored, we entered many car shows.” This car achieved many awards over the years at various car shows. Fifteen of those awards are listed below, pictured in photo gallery and included. This car was also featured in the Chevelle World magazine January/February 2003 Volume 8 issue and is also included. The car was taken to most of the car shows in an enclosed trailer and didn’t see much of the roads after the restoration.  Unfortunately, Bob’s health declined over the years and the Chevelle wasn’t used very often. In 2021, Bob and Karen made the decision to sell the vehicle they owned for fifty –five years. On October 4th, 2021 Bob and Karen sold the Chevelle to MS CLASSIC CARS. The car was picked up by Plycar Automotive Logistics with an enclosed trailer and photos of that day are pictured in the photo gallery.

The exterior of this car is absolutely beautiful. The Chevelle World magazine titled it best, “Weapon of Mass Distraction”. The car literally stops you in your tracks with its striking color combination of Regal Red exterior, Black Vinyl top, Ivory interior and Red wheels and Redline tires. This Chevelle was the product of frame on restoration and not a frame off restoration. The body was never taken off the frame and the car was never completely disassembled. Some might refer to it as light restoration. The entire car retains all of its original sheet metal with exception of some patch work to the driver’s side rear quarter. The body is very straight throughout and the doors close extremely nice. The car was repainted in its original color of Regal Red which fits this car like a glove. The paint is beautiful and was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. The black vinyl top was replaced new and complements the shade of red perfectly. During the restoration all of the glass was replaced new and is crystal clear. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced. Bob stated the window trim, front bumper and rear bumper are original to the vehicle. It has a great stance on the original 14” wheels that are painted red with chrome hub caps. The wheels are wrapped in Coker Classic Redline 205-75-14 tires. As quoted from Jerry MacNeish’s report, “The color combination of a red exterior with parchment interior and black vinyl top make this vehicle one of a kind.”

The interior of this car is also absolutely beautiful. The interior color choice of Ivory imitation leather and black was a great decision. It truly sets off the exterior colors. During the restoration everything in the interior was restored or replaced. Everything in the interior is also in working order including the clock in the console. The odometer reads 59,939 miles which is original mileage. A set of correct rubber floor mats are included. MS CLASSIC CARS added a new set of black carpeted floor mats with the words SS 396 on them. Although most of this interior was restored or replaced it has a very authentic feel. The steering wheel turns so easily with the factory power steering. The trunk compartment was nicely restored with the correct trunk splatter paint and trunk mat. It has a full size spare tire and tools.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. The car is powered by its original matching numbers “L34” 396/360HP V8 engine that runs excellent. It has a T0531EF assembly date, #961 block casting and cast E176. This engine has never been rebuilt as it has less than 60,000 original miles. Over the years it was serviced but never rebuilt. MS CLASSIC CARS did have the cylinder heads rebuilt. The intake manifold cast is #948, dated E246, the Holley carburetor is #3419, dated 653, the alternator is #1100693, dated 6B7and the coil is #204 B-R. The engine breathes through the correct exhaust manifolds and a new dual exhaust system that was replaced new by MS CLASSIC CARS. As quoted from Jerry MacNeish’s report, “engine bay is extremely detailed and original.” The engine is coupled to the original matching numbers Muncie M20 4-speed manual. It has a P0527 assembly date and #010 case. The transmission was also never rebuilt as it has less than 60,000 original miles. Over the years it was serviced but never rebuilt. The clutch is easy to operate and it shifts very smoothly through all four gears. The power is transferred to the original 12-bolt Positract rear end with 3.55 gears. The rear end has a KF0427B assembly date, #3875745N casting number and C216 casting date.

The undercarriage is nicely detailed throughout with many correct parts. As indicated on the original Bill of Sale the underneath was undercoated at the dealership when it was new. As quoted in Jerry MacNeish’s report, “solid original floors and still has original dealership undercoating.” Everything underneath was restored or replaced such as the steering, suspension and braking components.

Some other miscellaneous items are also included such as a few photos of restoration, photos once the car was completed and car show dash plaques.

“In all my years of collecting classic vehicles this is the most special vehicle I’ve ever had. That says a lot considering I’ve owned over 700. Prior to this Chevelle, the oldest vehicle I purchased from the original owner was 1972. Until now, that was my most special vehicle. I will always remember this car and the story of how I acquired it. I really appreciate both Robert and Karen Chvala, Jr and will always consider them friends.  I dedicate this listing to them both.”

***MS CLASSIC CARS only purchases number one and number two condition classic vehicles. We service and detail every vehicle unlike most classic vehicles that are currently being advertised for sale. MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $10,929.14 servicing and detailing this vehicle. This is documented with an invoice pictured below. We’re the only classic car dealership in the country that does this.  Please understand every vehicle needs something.  Some vehicles just need a lot more than others.  At MS CLASSIC CARS we take eliminate the surprises.  We’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking. ***

Unfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers, private parties and auctions aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale.  This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different.  The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages.  Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration.  An example would be a classic vehicle that's  being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc.  Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored.  There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components.  The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale.  A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly!

MS CLASSIC CARS specializes in beautiful classic cars and trucks that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I personally have selected these vehicles and take pride in what I represent.  I'm not a classic car dealer who is only looking to make a quick buck.  I’ve seen dealers and private parties purchase classic vehicles at auctions and online and immediately list them for sale.  Most of these vehicles aren’t being advertised correctly and haven’t been serviced or detailed.  This business is my career and reputation which means everything to me.  I do the best of my ability to represent quality classic cars and advertise them honestly.  To be clear I’m not in the restoration business.  I represent classic vehicles that have already been restored.

This vehicle is owned by MS CLASSIC CARS and is located in Seekonk, MA.  I personally have seen, touched and driven this vehicle.  This vehicle has been through a service and detail process which is documented with an MS CLASSIC CARS invoice.  I write the descriptions, take the photos, advertise them for sale and answer all the calls and emails.  I'll personally go over the entire vehicle and tell you everything I know about it.  I'll also give you my opinion if it’s truly the right vehicle for you. I’ll consider all trades and also offer financing if necessary.   Once you've committed to purchase a classic vehicle from MS CLASSIC CARS, I’ll make it a very easy process from start to finish.  Once the funds have cleared I'll immediately mail the paperwork USPS 2-day air.  A CD with the description and photos of the vehicle you purchased will be included in the package.  I’ll also assist in shipping your vehicle to its new home.

If you've read the introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree I'm a bit of a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic vehicles. MS CLASSIC CARS has a great reputation and we continue to raise the bar in the classic car and truck world.  I sell our classic cars and trucks very quickly because consumers see the value.  I look forward to working with you.  Please read my website testimonials and eBay positive feedback.  Thank you for the opportunity!

I do the best I can to represent my classic cars and trucks.  My results, feedback and reputation speak for themselves. Everyone’s opinion of a classic car and truck is different and I encourage questions prior to a purchase. I have a beautiful showroom with excellent lighting and a lift for a complete inspection if requested. Inspections will be scheduled by appointment only.  The closest airport is Providence, RI.  It’s only a 25 minute ride from the dealership.  I can arrange to pick up at the airport.  I also have a dealer plate that would allow for a test drive with a valid driver’s license for a serious buyer.  Please call 508-557-0152 or email for any questions.  Thank you.
