Marc Shiliro's Classic Cars
You're looking at another beautiful classic car listed by MS CLASSIC CARS!
1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK 1
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS.  You might recognize my name or my business name from the beautiful classic cars, trucks and motorcycles I’ve collected and sold nationally.  I’ve got over 25 years of classic vehicle experience and continue to learn more every day. I’ve learned a lot and I’m educated in many different makes and models ranging from the early 1900’s to current. I specialize in beautiful classic vehicles that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I only collect number one and number two condition vehicles that are already completed. We slightly redesign them, service them and detail them. I have also coordinated restorations from start to finish but don’t do this anymore. Over the years I’ve collected and sold over 700 classic vehicles which can be seen on the company website sold page. The vehicles are sold to previous customers, referrals and are sold from advertising on various websites, online auctions and live auctions. We’ve featured many classic vehicles at different auctions across the United States. We’ve had many vehicles that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites. I’m proud to say that MS CLASSIC CARS has accomplished some great things with our vehicles over the years. People recognize value in our vehicles and doing business with us. I consider myself to be an expert in the classic car business and would like to put my experience to work for you.

The MS CLASSIC CARS showroom is located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. This location was established in 2012. The MS CLASSIC CARS service department and multiple storage facilities are also located in Seekonk, Massachusetts.  The MS CLASSIC CARS operations are closed to the public.  A private viewing of a vehicle can be made scheduled by appointment Monday through Friday.  The MS CLASSIC CARS inventory consists of roughly 50 classic cars and trucks that we own, service and detail.  We’re the only dealership in the country that services every vehicle we sell and documents it with an invoice. I stand behind every vehicle we sell.  Each vehicle is presented with a detailed description, 150+ high quality photos and a video.  We don’t offer consignments.  When you call you deal directly with me. I know each vehicle well and will go over the vehicle of your interest in full detail.  I’ll also assist you with any other needs such as trades, financing, insurance or enclosed shipping.  I promise to make the process from start to finish easy and enjoyable.  I take a lot of pride in this business and our reputation reflects that.  I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.  “MS CLASSIC CARS isn’t just another dealer.  MS CLASSIC CARS is a brand.”

Marc Schiliro – The owner

I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over 25 years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars.  These people aren’t just one age group but all different ages ranging from very young to very old.  It’s a very diverse market.  I've learned it's not just people in the United States but its people all over the world.

Over the years I've noticed that the higher quality classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Over the last 20 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow.  Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline.  It’s all about supply and demand, not about a good or bad economy.  The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale.  The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments.  Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay.

Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time at Viti Mercedes Benz located in Tiverton, RI. They’re recognized for being one of the best Mercedes Benz dealerships in the country for customer service.  I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time.  Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership.  Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen which required using my family’s savings and acquiring loans such as a home equity line of credit.  I also took on a lot of overhead that I didn’t have before.  The bottom line is I went all in.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  “I’m putting my money where my mouth is”. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Marc Schiliro – The Owner

This stunning 1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK I was the product of a documented rotisserie restoration and is in show quality condition throughout. It was listed in the Tiger Registry by Tiger expert Norman Miller which was verified with Tiger expert Bill Martin of Rootes Group Depot by Marc Schiliro of MS CLASSIC CARS in July of 2022. The Sunbeam Tiger is a high-performance V8 version of the British Rootes Group’s Sunbeam Alpine roadster, designed in part by American car designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby. He had carried out a similar V8 conversion on the AC Cobra, and hoped to be offered the contract to produce the Tiger at his facility in the United States. Rootes decided instead to contract the assembly work to Jenson at West Bromwich in England and pay Shelby a royalty on every car produced. A total of 7,085 were produced from 1964 to 1967. The first model was designated as an MK I which was produced from April 1964 to August 1965 totaling 3,763 units. This example was late built 1965 model. It retains its original body tag and chassis tag. From the information gathered this example was found with only 27,230 miles on the odometer in incredibly well-preserved condition after being in storage for over 37 years by its second owner in Texas. To bring this Tiger MK I back to its former glory, a no-expense-spared rotisserie restoration was commissioned. The restoration was completed in 2012 and has less than 700 miles since completion. This car sports its original color combination of an Artic White exterior and Red interior which is extremely rare. The car is powered by a period correct Ford 260 V8 engine and 4-speed manual transmission which are both believed to be original to the vehicle. This Tiger MK I was equipped with a some Los Angles Tiger options including cast alloy wheels (LAT 9) and a limited-slip differential with 3.54 rear gear ratio (LAT 50 and 53). This is a wonderful example of a very special Tiger MK I. A photo album of the restoration and copy of Texas title from 2012 is included.

The exterior of this car is simply stunning in every sense of the word. During the restoration process the paint was stripped and a very original body was revealed. As documented, it was put on a rotisserie, primed and block-sanded to ensure the body was laser straight. The panel fitment is really good and the doors close very nicely. It was re-painted in its original color of Artic White which is code #92. The high quality paint was recently detailed to a show quality shine. It’s equipped with a new black soft top which fits well but is wrinkled from being down most of the time. The new Triple X laminated front windshield was added during the restoration. The side glass is original and only shows minor signs of wear. Everything on the
exterior was replaced or restored such as the windshield trim, wipers, driver’s mirror, Carello H4 headlights, front grill bar, front bumper, door handles, side moldings, trunk lid hinges, gas cap, taillight bezels and lenses, rear bumper and emblems. The car sit’s on original Los Angles Tiger (LAT 9) cast alloy wheels that have a black center with a Tiger in the center cap. The wheels are wrapped with Michelin XAS FF 165HR13 tires.

The interior of this car is also simply stunning in every sense of the word. As documented the entire interior was stripped and re-finished in its original red trim which is gorgeous. From the information gathered from Tiger expert Bill Martin of Rootes Group Depot this is an extremely rare and desirable color combination. The new red upholstery includes the door panels, bucket seats, center console, rear section and carpeting. The wood dash houses the black Jaeger gauges which are all in working order. The wood steering wheel and shifter make the driver feel part of the car. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced such as the rear view mirror, dash pad, dash hard ware, door sill plates, door grab handles, window cranks, seats, ash tray, etc. The trunk compartment was nicely restored. Its home to the spare tire, jack tools and battery with power cut off knob.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many new parts. The entire engine bay was stripped during the restoration and re-painted body color which looks crisp. The car is powered by a period correct 260 V8 that was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. This engine is believed to be the original to the vehicle but since the valve cover plate with engine number isn’t present it’s impossible to prove since the VIN numbers weren’t stamped on the engine block. The engine was dressed with chrome valve covers, Cobra intake, new Holley Quick-Fuel 450CFM carburetor and Cobra finned oil pan. Everything was replaced new during the restoration such as the wiring, hoses, clamps, coil, distributor, spark plug wires, brake booster, washer fluid bottle, radiator and over-fill canister. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and a stainless steel dual exhaust system that has the perfect tone. The engine is coupled to the period correct 4-speed manual transmission which was completely rebuilt and shifts smoothly. This transmission is also believed to be the original to the vehicle. The power is transferred to a limited-slip differential with 3.54 gears. The rebuilt rear end is also believed to be original to the vehicle.

The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout with many new parts. The underside was stripped during the restoration and re-finished in a black textured paint for durability. Everything was restored or replaced such as the fuel tank and lines, steering components, power braking system with front discs and suspension system with red Koni shocks.

This vehicle has recently been completely serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.

This is the first time this vehicle has been made available from the distinguished MS CLASSIC
CARS Collection.

**PLEASE CALL MS CLASSIC CARS OWNER MARC SCHILIRO FOR A VERY ACCURATE VERBAL DESCRIPTION OF THIS VEHICLE**

***MS CLASSIC CARS only purchases number one and number two condition classic vehicles. We service and detail every vehicle unlike most classic vehicles that are currently being advertised for sale. MS CLASSIC CARS invested a total of $5,291.13 servicing and detailing this vehicle. This is documented with an invoice pictured below. We’re the only classic car dealership in the country that does this. Please understand every vehicle needs something. Some vehicles just need a lot more than others. At MS CLASSIC CARS we take eliminate the surprises. We’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking. ***

Unfortunately most classic vehicles that are being advertised for sale by dealers, private parties and auctions aren't exactly what are being advertised for sale.  This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different.  The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages.  Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration.  An example would be a classic vehicle that's  being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc.  Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored.  There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components.  The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale.  A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly!

MS CLASSIC CARS specializes in beautiful classic cars and trucks that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I personally have selected these vehicles and take pride in what I represent.  I'm not a classic car dealer who is only looking to make a quick buck.  I’ve seen dealers and private parties purchase classic vehicles at auctions and online and immediately list them for sale.  Most of these vehicles aren’t being advertised correctly and haven’t been serviced or detailed.  This business is my career and reputation which means everything to me.  I do the best of my ability to represent quality classic cars and advertise them honestly.  To be clear I’m not in the restoration business.  I represent classic vehicles that have already been restored.

This vehicle is owned by MS CLASSIC CARS and is located in Seekonk, MA.  I personally have seen, touched and driven this vehicle.  This vehicle has been through a service and detail process which is documented with an MS CLASSIC CARS invoice.  I write the descriptions, take the photos, advertise them for sale and answer all the calls and emails.  I'll personally go over the entire vehicle and tell you everything I know about it.  I'll also give you my opinion if it’s truly the right vehicle for you. I’ll consider all trades and also offer financing if necessary.   Once you've committed to purchase a classic vehicle from MS CLASSIC CARS, I’ll make it a very easy process from start to finish.  Once the funds have cleared I'll immediately mail the paperwork USPS 2-day air.  A CD with the description and photos of the vehicle you purchased will be included in the package.  I’ll also assist in shipping your vehicle to its new home.

If you've read the introduction tab or visited my website you’ll probably agree I'm a bit of a perfectionist and represent very detailed classic vehicles. MS CLASSIC CARS has a great reputation and we continue to raise the bar in the classic car and truck world.  I sell our classic cars and trucks very quickly because consumers see the value.  I look forward to working with you.  Please read my website testimonials and eBay positive feedback.  Thank you for the opportunity!
