Description

1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 572

THIS CAR WAS BUILT TO LOOK GREAT AND BE EXTREMELY USER FRIENDLY!

MS CLASSIC CARS HAS COLLECTED, SOLD AND SEEN THOUSANDS OF FIRST GENERATION CAMAROS OVER THE YEARS.  HOWEVER, WEVE NEVER OWNED ONE WITH A GM ZZ572 CRATE ENGINE. IVE ALWAYS WANTED A CLASSIC CAR WITH A 572!  THESE ENGINES ARE RATED AT 620HP AND ANY CLASSIC CAR ENTHUSIAT KNOWS THERE AWSOME.  THE REASON YOU DONT SEE MANY FIRST GENERATION CAMAROS WITH A 572 IS BECAUSE THERE VERY EXPENSIVE AND A LOT OF MODIFICATIONS NEED TO BE DONE SO IT FITS.  AS AN EXAMPLE THE BLOCK IS TALLER THEN A 502 SO A LOT OF ITEMS HAVE TO BE MODIFIFED FOR CLEARANCE SUCH AS THE HOOD, PULLEY SYSTEM, STEERING UNIT, ALTERNATOR UNIT, HEADERS, RADIATOR, WIPER MOTOR, ETC. THE OTHER THING IS MAKING SURE ONCE ITS INSTALLED IT ALL WORKS PROPERLY.  SOME OF THE CAMAROS THAT IVE SEEN WITH 572 ENGINES WERENT DONE PROPERLY AND IT SHOWS IN THE DETAILS. THIS 1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO NOT ONLY LOOKS EXCELLENT BUT IT ALSO PERFORMANCES EXCELLENT!

LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

MS CLASSIC CARS purchased this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS locally in May of 2014 from an older gentleman who owned the car for a few years.  The car was a complete rotisserie restoration and only had about 1500 on it since completion. It was equipped with some Torque style wheels, new standard interior, 350 engine and turbo 350 transmission with 10 bolt rear.  The car was born an original SS model.  As the first 5 digits of the VIN indicate it was an 8cyl and the trim tag X11 indicates it was a Super Sport.  A breakdown of the VIN number and trim tag is listed below.  The car was born Azure Turquoise which is a beautiful color.

  Once I spent some time checking the car over I was very impressed and it only made sense that I would turn this cat into a lion! I connected with one of my shops 2 Motorheads Garage to make my vision come to reality.  I just didnt realize how much time and money it was going to take.  I ended up upgrading tons of things from top to bottom.

  After it was all said and done I invested over $60,000 and thats including the cost of the car which was completely restored.  I have almost $20,000 invested in just the engine including the March Performance pulley system and headers! I really wanted a beautiful 1969 Camaro with a 572 and Im so proud of this car.  However, with the time and cost involved I wont be building another.

  This is a huge opportunity for someone to purchase an amazing car for a great price!

Breakdown of VIN# 124379N674188:

1 = Chevrolet

2 = Camaro

4 = 8cyl

37 = Coupe

9 = 1969

674188 = sequence number

Breakdown of the trim tag:

ST 69 = 1969

12437 = Chevrolet, Camaro, 8cyl

NOR = Built at Norwood plant

Trim  711 = Black buckets

PNT 55  55 = Azure Turquoise

X11 = SS 350

The exterior body of this car is very nice and straight.  All of the gaps are nice as well. The Corvette Stinger style hood is fiberglass and very light weight.  Please keep in mind fiberglass has its advantages but isnt the same as metal and very difficult to make fit.  The doors and deck lid open and close excellent!

The car was painted in its original color of Azure Turquoise. It was complimented by black accents on the Stinger hood cowl, hockey stripe, quarter shark fins and rear deck lid single strip.  The paint on this car is beautiful and the color really POPS. Its a show quality paint job thats virtually flawless.  When was the last time youve seen a Camaro in this color with accents like this.  This is a really sweet looking car!

Everything on the exterior is new and listed below.

All new glass and stainless trim.

New grill, lower spoiler, wiper arms, door handles, mirrors, bumpers, lights and SS emblems.

New custom white 572 emblems.

New Boze Forged custom built Tach 3 piece wheels that are 18 on the front and 19 on the rear.  The Nitto Extreme front tires are 245/40/18 and the rear tires are 275/35/19.  Just the wheels and tires retail for around $5000.00!

The car originally came with black interior with bucket seats so it only made sense to customize the interior in black.  This interior is all new and in beautiful condition.  Everything was tastefully done and everything just flows together.  An example would be the gauges match the steering wheel, etc. Everything is in working order.

Everything is new and listed below.

All new interior trim including such items as headliner, dash pad, console, door panels, carpet, etc.

All new hardware such as astro vents, door handles, window cranks, rear view mirror, E brake release knob, pedals, switches, knobs, etc.

New Pro Car bucket seats with mounting tracks.

New seat belts in the front and rear.  The front seat belts have shoulder harness that attached to upper side panels.

New Autometer gauge cluster with Pro Comp silver gauges.

New floor console with additional Autometer Pro Comp gauges.

New Lokar speedometer cable.

New removable storage arm rest with cup holders.

New Budnick 15.5 steering wheel.

New black carpeted SS floor mats.

New 2-speed hidden windshield wiper conversion kit.

JVC stereo system with front speakers located in kicker panels and rear speakers located in rear deck tray.  The system is power by an Infinity amplifier located in the trunk compartment.

The trunk compartment was painted and covered with a matching black carpeted mat with SS emblems.

The engine compartment is highly detailed and home to the massive GM ZZ572 crate engine rated at 620HP.  Yes, this is the real deal!  The engine cowl area and firewall is in beautiful condition. The fiberglass Corvette Stinger style hood is attached to Billet hinges with pumps.  These function really nice and are pro show.  The inner fenders are also beautiful and have adjustable aluminum fender braces that match the hinges!

The idea behind building this car was to make it not only look the excellent but also perform excellent.  Big blocks with this kind of power are normally a hassle to operate.  My shop wanted this car to be extremely user friendly and thats exactly what it is.  You literally get into the car turn the key and it starts immediately.  Rather than using the GM recommended Demon 1000 carburetor my shop decided on a Holley 850 4 barrel with electric choke.  This makes the engine much easier to operate with no issues starting and stopping multiple times.

Ive owned hundreds of classic cars over the years and this is one of the best running ones Ive experienced.  It warms up within a few minutes, runs smooth, drives great in both city and highway and has no overheating issues with the massive custom built aluminum radiator.  Depending what mood youre in you can drive it like an animal or cruise it down the road.  Everything is new and listed below.

New March Performance serpentine Style Track pulley system.

New Edelbrock Performer fuel pump.

New Edelbrock water pump.

New Spectra air cleaner and chrome fittings throughout.

New Billet Bowtie valve cover breathers.

New Taylor ignition system.

New big block heater core kit with hoses.

New CPP 400 series power steering box.  Steering lines were wrapped to keep them cool.

New Optima blue top battery with HD battery terminals.

New Dynatech ceramic headers.  These headers were the second set custom made for a 572 by Dynatech.  They were over $1000.00!

New Dynatech 3 exhaust system from front to back that sounds amazing!  This exhaust was done pro show.  The rear pipes were cut at leaf springs so the exits were noticeable.

New Undercover Innovations radiator support show panel with custom 572 logos engraved in it.

New custom built Wizard Cooling HD aluminum radiator with 2 electric fans.  This radiator was well over $1000.00 as well!

New billet aluminum radiator over flow canister and radiator cap.

The engine is coupled to a custom built 700R4 HD transmission with overdrive.  This transmission shifts great and allows for all types of driving whether it is around town or on the highway.

Listed below are some of the features.

New 2200 HD stall converter.

Lokar dip stick.

Lokar linkage.

B&M Quick Sliver chrome shifter. This is a very heavy duty setup and works great!

The transmission is connected to a newly rebuilt GM 12 bolt POSI rear end with 3.73 gears.  It has a Moser aluminum differential cover.  This rear end was made to handle to pavement pounding power of the 572!

The undercarriage of this car is really nice and clean. Everything was restored or replaced during the restoration.  This car has both power steering and power brakes.

  Listed below are some of the features.

Right Stuff detailing Big Brake Signature Series kit which includes a chrome master cylinder and booster, cross drilled and slotted rotors and red calipers.

The front suspension has been upgraded with QA1 adjustable coil-overs, sway bar, bushings, etc.

It has sub frame connecters to support the body from flexing.

The rear suspension has been upgraded with Hotchkis rear lowering leaf springs, U-bolts, shackles and bushings.  It also has a rear shock relocation kit.

As my website indicates Im a huge first generation Camaro enthusiast.  Ive collected and sold many beautiful Camaros over the years. As I mentioned above Ive always wanted a first generation Camaro with a GM ZZ572 crate engine.  With the time and expense it takes to do one correctly there arent many on the market for sale which makes them hard to find one.  I have seen a few for sale over the years but noticed they werent done professionally which is like opening a can of nasty worms.  Ive spent a lot of time and money building this car and Im so proud of it.  Ive invested over $60,000.00 and that didnt include the original cost of the Camaro which was already restored.  I did this project more because it was on my bucket list rather than thinking I was going to be profitable.  Its got so many cool things going for it such as its a real 1969 Camaro SS, its finished in its original born color combination with upgraded black accents, BOZE Forged custom built wheels, custom black interior, detailed engine compartment with a GM ZZ572, (did I mention it has a 572?), 700R4 transmission with over drive, four wheel disc brakes and upgraded suspension.  This car is the real deal and will make the new owner proud.  When you pull up to a cruise-in or car show can you bet the person next to you probably doesnt have a 572 under there hood.  MS CLASSIC CARS considers all trades and offers competitive financing terms and rates.  I would challenge anyone to find a comparable car for less.  Get it before someone else does!
